Caricature

My love for the caricatures is way back from a very small age. Actually, I started sketching with caricatures first.

School teachers and friends were my favorites for practicing caricatures. I still remember once a subject teacher of mine scolded me very badly after she saw a cartoon drawing of her’s which I had sketched in the back page of her subject notebook and I had submitted it to her for correction without notice.

My love for sketching caricatures didn’t stop there only. Back home I used to sketch funny faces of my family members like my father has a long nose, so I would exaggerate it along with other facial features and I had a share of a great laugh with my sisters over the sketch. Of course, I was reprimanded for not concentrating on studies.

Bollywood actors and actresses were my other favorite people whose caricatures I loved to draw. Even today I make it a habit that I sketch a caricature frequently. It makes me feel happy from inside.

Here I have sketched a caricature of Bollywood actor Nana Patekar. For the sketch, I used 3h pencil for the rough outlines and completed it using mostly 8b pencil.

Thanks and have a nice day ahead.
