Kerala Mural paintings are the painting done rapidly in acrylic color on wet plaster on a wall or ceiling depicting mythology and legends, which are drawn on the walls of temples and churches in South India, principally in Kerala.

The traditional style mural art form, using natural pigments and vegetable colors. Today the trend has shifted from wall murals to those painted on canvas and paper. The most frequently used pigments in Kerala murals are saffron-red, saffron-yellow, green, red, white, blue, black, yellow and golden-yellow.

This peacock painting is made on canvas with acrylic colors.
