Line and wash or pen and wash drawings are totally different from the color drawings. It looks very attractive and quite different from using colors only. It’s a drawing marked by pens only and then tinted with diluted inks and watercolors.
This technique has been in use since the Renaissance period. Rembrandt often used this medium.
To draw these drawings, you will need ink or traditional pens, a travel watercolor set, a sketchbook, few brushes, and water. That’s all one needs to get started with.
Here in this drawing, I used my black gel pen, later washed the drawing with normal watercolors which my daughter use for her drawings. After coloring, I used a pen again in some places where I felt required.
