Rooftop gardens in the spotlight, with a plea for native plants

The benefits of using Australian plants for roof gardens will be discussed at a public lecture for the Australian Plants Society Keilor Plains Group next week. University of Melbourne plant ecologist and associate professor Nick Williams will outline the findings of his research into using Australian species, including plants from native grasslands, to mitigate the effects of climate change in urban areas. He will speak at 7.50pm on November 2 at Main Hall, Raleigh Road Activity Centre, 54 Raleigh Road Maribyrnong.
