Illustrations are a very important part of children’s books. When a child learns to read he finds the story easier to understand if the books have pictures.
Illustrations in books motivate kids to read. They help to strengthen the visual thinking. They simplify things in a safe manner which makes reading more understandable for kids. So it’s very important that we buy books with beautiful illustrations for kids at their early age.
Here I have sketched an E. H. Shepherd illustration from a classic children’s book by Kenneth Graham. It’s one of the all-time great animal stories. I have used a graphite pencil, pen and watercolors for this illustration.
Thanks and have a nice day ahead.
