Goddess Saraswati

Saraswati Devi is the goddess of knowledge, music, art, and science. She is the mother of Sanskrit. She is depicted as a graceful goddess dressed in white, holding veena, a musical instrument. She is seated on a white swan. 

She is a creator and donor of knowledge. Her four arms represent the four aspects of human personality in learning: mind, intellect, alertness, and ego. These four arms also represent the 4 Vedas, the primary sacred book in Hinduism religion. 

She is shown to hold a book, which is the sacred Vedas, representing the universal, divine, eternal and true knowledge as well as her perfection of the sciences and the scriptures. The veena, a musical instrument that represents her perfection of all arts and sciences and rhythm of the music expressed all emotions and feelings.
