Train Tunnel

Pen drawings are probably the most convenient and low-cost form of art-making. You just need a pen and a paper for it and that’s all. Almost every one of us has doodled with a pen in the back of our notebooks in our life.

Drawing with pens can be very fun and easy. You can use different colors of pens to make colorful pen drawings. It’s not less than watercolor art if you use a brush and a bit of water. For pen art, you need to learn a few techniques like using the right pen and holding it correctly. Simply changing the way you hold the pen can give totally different dimensions to the drawings. When to hold the pen lightly and when to put pressure is all the magic which can make the drawings special and unique.

An interesting fact is that the dried up pens can be very useful. These pens can deliver very different and beautiful brush-like strokes.  In some places, they give broken lines which give drawings a completely new look.
We use different techniques in pen sketches like hatchings, cross-hatchings, random lines and sometimes stippling which is a method where we use only dots.

Most important thing is art should be fun. Don’t be ever afraid of making mistakes. After finishing your artwork mistakes might not even be noticeable. This is the beauty of pen drawings.

Here I am depicting a train coming out of a tunnel in this pen and ink drawing. I used black gel pens here. Mainly Marvy Uchida 0.1 pen. In some places, I did hatching, cross-hatchings, and just simple straight lines.

Thanks and have a nice day
