Taiwan woman changes mind about suicide, thanks to bowl of porridge

A hot bowl of homemade porridge was enough to deter an old woman in Tainan, Taiwan, from taking her own life, China Press reported.

During the incident on Wednes­day, two police officers, known only as Yang and Lin, were patrolling the area near the Xigang bridge when they chanced on the 75-year-old woman.

Carrying only a rucksack on her back, the woman, whose surname is Lee, was seen pacing near the bridge.
