Key points in the UN report on climate change

INCHEON, SOUTH KOREA - The landmark United Nations report on limiting global warming to 1.5 deg C was released in South Korea on Monday (Oct 8) after a week-long meeting of the 195-nation Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

A "Summary for Policymakers" of the 400-page tome underscores how quickly global warming has outstripped humanity's attempts to tame it, and outlines stark options - all requiring a makeover of the world economy - for avoiding the worst ravages of climate change.
